An ever present post-colonial problem in contemorary Africa is the high level of a deeply rooted lack of self- confidence, and an unappreciation for our African culture by a plethora of young Africans; perhaps because Africa has been presented in a negative light in the media for a long time.
This is also thanks to the unsaid perception that everything foreign is better. We may also find lacking a type of role model who is as trendy as they are African; one that young people can relate to in a world obsessed by social media and reality television.
That is why the #iamyefon movement was initially created.
We saw a need to provide tools for young Africans to find their place in the society by applying certain principles which would not only help find a strong sense of purpose, but equally redefine and challenge stereotypes by embracing all of those aspects, thus creating a new point of view in their lives.
Through the #IAMYEFON Movement, young African students are taught HOW To enhance their self- confidence,
and decision -making skills as well as school, career and life skills they can apply to their daily lives.
These character traits are inspired by Yefon: the heroine the novel who fights an oppressive cultural system in the 1940s, in order to acquire the fundamental right to education, that most of us have at our disposal today.
Our program will re-inspire courage and drive in the young ladies to become the best version of ourselves.

What others are Saying...
The Youth Foundation helps young minorities discover and pursue their life purpose; through our slogan:
YOUNG, EMPOWERED, FOCUSED, ORIGINAL & NURTURING.
We aim at solving youth problems using a 'fresh' innovative approach that involves the youth becoming more aware, and hands-on in the solution to their problems.
Learn more about the Yefon Youth Foundation, which works with educators to reform education in African schools to meet the growing international demand.
We also aim at identifying and rewarding high achievers by providing them the right tools they would need towards evolving into the highest version of themselves.
As part of our program, we organize an annual school tour, which was recently tested into the entry market in Cameroon (Central Africa) in over 80 schools and orphanages in the cities of Yaounde, Douala, Buea, Kumba, Kumbo, Mbengwi and Bamenda .
The Program is a new approach to learning, which combines hands-on critical, objective thinking and core values to train the students to face the real world after school. When combined with a school degree (diploma), a student is able to excel in any given field, and weather any storm because their willpower and resilience is strong.
Our Mission at Yefon Youth Foundation is to help young people discover and pursue their life purpose; and to nurture them on their journey towards greatness by providing them the necessary tools best summarized as Young, Empowered, Focused, Original and Nurturing.
These are achieved through interactive panels, activities, scholarships, and mentorship programs etc.
